POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam hockey player
Breanna Roy has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference West's Honor Roll for the week ending Feb. 19.
Roy had a four-point weekend as the Bears rounded out the regular season with a split at Division I Sacred Heart. The senior had two goals, including the game-winner, in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Pioneers. On Saturday, she added an assist and a third period power-play marker, but Potsdam's rally fell short in a 5-3 loss.
Roy ranks second in the conference and fourth in the nation in scoring by a defenseman with eight goals and 20 assists for 28 points. She is the Bears' second-leading scorer and ninth in total points in the ECAC West. Roy is also fifth in the conference in assists with 20 and third in power-play points with 14 (4g-10a).
Roy and the Bears return to the playoffs for the second time in the program's four-year history on Saturday, Feb. 25, when they head to Elmira for a 3 p.m. showdown.
