POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam junior swimmer Alexander Taylor has been named to the 2011-12 All-State University of New York Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving first team.
 
After earning a place on the second team last season, Taylor grabbed a spot on the first team this year with victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events at the SUNYAC Championships in Buffalo last weekend. Taylor swam a school record time of 0:57.89 to win the 100 breaststroke on Friday and on Saturday he captured the 200 breaststroke with a Potsdam and SUNYAC record time of 2:06.61. He also set a new Bears mark in 200 individual medley, topping his own record with at time of 1:56.80. He was named Male Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet.
 
Twice this season Taylor has been named SUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the week. He garnered the honors for the week ending Oct. 30 and Feb. 12.
 
The top three finishers in individual events make the all-conference teams. The individual champions are on the first team, while the second- and third-place finishers are on the second team. See below for the 2011-12 All-SUNYAC Men's Swimming & Diving teams.
