OSWEGO, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam swimming and diving teams fell at Oswego State in their first meet of 2012 on Saturday afternoon. The Laker men topped the Bears 148-132 and the Oswego women were victorious, 143-123.
Junior
Liz Ringer and sophomore
Richie Zimmerman were each triple winners for Potsdam. Ringer won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:20.33, the 100 butterfly in 1:02.11, and the 200 individual medley in 2:21.98. Zimmerman captured the 100 breaststroke (1:01.99), 200 backstroke (2:05.53), and 200 individual medley (2:07.54).
Junior
Alexander Taylor won two events with individual victories in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.74) and 500 freestyle (5:12.22). Freshman
Matthew Natal won the 100 butterfly (1:01.98) and was a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team (1:49.38). Sophomores
Laurissa Coombs and
Ghena Binzer each captured solo victories in the 200 backstroke (2:22.23) and the 200 breaststroke (2:40.87), respectively.
The swimming and diving teams are back in action when they head across town to face Clarkson at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20.
