POTSDAM, N.Y.—The host SUNY Potsdam golf team finished third at the Bears Fall Invitational at the Potsdam Country Club this afternoon. Clarkson University won the competition and Golden Knight Rob Wood was the individual medalist with a score of 73. Potsdam freshman Andrew Pivetta (Chateaugay, N.Y.Chateaugay) led the Bears with a 76.

The Golden Knights shot a total of 314 followed by Oswego State's 317, 326 by the Bears, and SUNY Canton's 363.

Potsdam junior Andrew Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y./Fort Ann) shot an 81, while seniors Shane Laurie (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) and Lee Shippee (Corinth, N.Y./Corinth) each shot 82's. Freshman Matt Supernault (Massena, N.Y./Massena) rounded out the Bear's top five with an 85.

Potsdam is back in action on Sept. 10-11, at the St. Lawrence University Invitational. The Bears tee off at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
