NEW PALTZ, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam men's and women's cross country teams competed in the SUNYAC Cross Country Championships. The two teams both finished the competition in 10
th place.
The men were led by freshman
Jonathan Doane (Camden, N.Y.) who ran the 8-kilometer course in a time of 33:57. He was followed by freshman
Brett Wunsch (Colonie, N.Y.) and sophomore
Dan Lewis (Beacon, N.Y.) who posted times of 35:47 and 40:44 respectively. Sophomore John Bressett (Potsdam, N.Y.) rounded out the top Bears' runners with a time of 44:34.
Senior
Hollie Heimer (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) paced the women's team with a time of 26:39. Freshman Rebecca Ducket (Tupper Lake, N.Y./Tupper Lake) ran a time of 30:25 and sophomore
Sara Behuniak (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) ran 33:26. Sophomore
Kinga Kanczura (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) finished the 6-kilometer course in 35:37.
This meet was the last of the season for the Bears. The women's best finish was sixth in the Middlebury Invitational and the men's top spot was seventh in the same event.
